Bold and the Beautiful : Bollywood Show stoppers stun at the Lakme Fashion Week - 2019

The Lakme Fashion Week 2019 has just concluded but there is no end to the tizzy it has sent us into. A premier destination for the crème de la crème of designers and the fashion conscious it is truly the event that sets the benchmark for Indian Fashion be it Indian Ethnic Wear, Fusion wear, Western designs from the best of Indian designers, or that most awaited category - Indian Bridal Wear.

And what happens when this festival extraordinaire meets the bold and the beautiful of Bollywood? - a star studded parade of glamorous faces, in the most lux couture that sends us into whirlpools of giddy delight at the very sight of this fashion forward gala.

Oh - well, so you can tell from that overwhelmed review as to how the Lakme Fashion Week 2019 has us over the moon. Before you accuse us of going gaga overboard with all that admiration take a good peak at the Bollywood showstoppers at Lakme Fashion Week - 2019 and see if you can resist joining us in the celebratory mood.

So here are the supernovas of Indian cinema as a feast for your eyes.

Supernova you ask ? yes, because that is what happens when two stars collide- the stars of Indian fashion and the stars of Bollywood.

Here is the show for your eyes only.

Fresh as a daisy : The young stunner was fresh as spring on the ramp. She showcased a flesh pink lehenga that flattered her petit frame and her glowing skin. While the sleeveless crop top with lavish zaree motifs gave the outfit a feminine appeal, the rich floral embroidery on the skirt with bold peacock plume motifs was a fresh departure from the usual Mughal florals doing the rounds. Her barely there make up and minimal jewellery helped to highlight the exquisite work on the outfit. Soft waves in her hair continued the fresh feminine theme.

Red Siren : Malaika Arora, is on a roll. There is no luck like the beginners luck and she is currently riding a new high with the post divorce fresh chapter in her life. And boy! did she sizzle the ramp like a siren? Her deep wine colored lehenga skirt paired with a matching ruffled sleevesless top and a bold plunging neckline was probably the most dramatic  HER ROYAL HHH-OT -NESS! moment from LFW 2019.  Clear faced makeup, kohl lined eyes , sleek brushed back hair with a centre parting and matching wine lips set our hearts aflutter.

Marsala Mom: True to her name Genelia D'Souza exuded genial charm on the runway in her Marsala embellished lehenga and quirky styling that saw her pair the outfit with a matching western style jacket, a pair of black embroidered brogues and a dupatta to match the outfit. She finished the look with earthy lips and chunky silver jewelry. We felt that the dupatta could have been given a miss but her smoky eyes were so bewitching they didn't allow us to complain.

Black Beauty: Always well turned out, Kareena was a show stopper in western wear and her black off-shoulder gown with sleek just washed look hair, dark lips and a net detail added to one arm and as a train was a winner for the day. It did remind us a lot of Priyanka Chopra's red carpet look with a net detail gown but who cares as long as the look was ravishing on Kareena Kapoor Khan as well.

Mauve Miss: Kangana Ranaut also a part of the LFW2019 and the Queen stunned in a beautifully embroidered mauve Lehenga with rich intricate, geometric embroidery.Another departure was her crop top mimicking a western slouchy silhouette with a loop sleeve on one arm, giving the outfit a modern and trendy edge.  Bouffant hair and matching sparklers added a vintage flair to the outfit and the look was complete with a pastel shades on the lid as well as the lip keeping the whole look light and fresh.

So, now you see why we are still dizzy with all that fanfare?

Ahh, this fever is going to last a while, we know. However no one is complaining; with stars in your eyes, we just heard you saying, stop the show - before it ends !
