Diwali has come and gone, but the festive hangover refuses to leave. Naturally, following the whirlwind preparations and the long weekend of festivities, it is hard to get back to the hum drum of daily life. Surely, you would have wrapped your valuable silk sarees and lehengas back in their tissue laden boxes and with a heavy heart you may even be depositing your lovely jewelery to its case.
But wait ! who said you still cannot be all dreamy eyed about the most special aspect of Diwali - dressing up in beautiful Indian wear like sarees and lehengas and other Indian ethnic wear.
You may have to wrap your lovely Indian wear up, but the whole experience of Diwali is not complete without a glance at the Bollywood star parade and the best dressed among them.
After all they are our undisputed style icons and it is to them that we look for inspiration for fashion choices. How can we forget to appreciate the bevy of Bollywood beauties that are truly the crown jewels when it comes to selecting and styling Indian ethnic wear with the true grace and glamour that befits it ?
Malaika Arora:The veteran sizzler and breaker of many a heart, Malaika Arora stunned in this minimal but striking crushed golden lehenga skirt paired with a body hugging black tee. Simple emeralds on strings adorned her neck and she wore the outfit with simple sophistication. Our verdict? A refreshing take on the Indian wear dress code for Diwali - Keep it up Ms. Arora !
Ananya Pandey: The young starlet wowed us with this neon off shoulder choli and lehenga set and set many a hearts aflutter. The color flattered her youthful frame and she used no jewellery except a minimal mang tikaa. Perfect outfit for young women ready to floor the onlookers this Diwali. A clean faced make up look accentutated her youthful features while wavy hair added the necessary touch of dramatic flair to an other wise simple outfit.
Sara Ali Khan: This down to earth damsel has already won the junta over with her humble and modest ways and bubbly personality. She kept the same vibe going on with the Diwali outfit in a simple blue chikankari kurta with sharara and we loved the small detail in how she matched her nails to her outfit. Let your hair down, the down to earth way with Sara Ali khan.
Nusrat Bharucha: Is also a regular now on the red carpets and glam parties. She chose to ring this diwali in in a minimal maroon lehenga set embellished with monochromatic thread work. The look was a little dull for a Diwali outfit and left us asking for more, however with the right accessories, you can dress up a rather sombre outfit just as you please.
Bhumi Pednekar: Bhumi's resplendant orange lehenga was a nod to the neon trend and the beautiful mirror work choli was an enviable sparkler. The Smoky eye and earthy lip complimented the whole look and she was an unmistakable dazzler in this vibrant ensemble. Perfect Diwali pick, we say !
So, now you must already be dreaming of your next year's Diwali outfit, right. Hold on, there is a whole year to wait. Yes, all good things like Diwali must come to an end , but only so they can return. So wait for the next year before you can shine like the stars again !
