Like every year, Lakme Fashion Week 2019 witnessed the who’s who of fashion industry, celebrities and socialities strutting their way to a glamourous rampage. However, this season, couturiers celebrated the joy and essence of weddings with their thoughtful and exquisitely crafted collection that evoked a sense of charm amidst the audience, leaving us gasping in awe. From nudes to shimmers, georgettes and organzas, black solid silhouettes to contemporary ensembles, runway sizzled with an array of state-of-art couture pieces. Our gorgeous divas spelled a cast on us with their breath-taking looks, here are the details you can’t miss:
Black Magic Woman
Talk about ravishing solid hues casting a mirage on the runway with its opaque finish and finesse hard to compete and harder to foresee, that’s the magic of a woman clad in black. Noir-esque ensembles rocked at the LFW’19 with scintillating Kapoor’s trailblazing in royal black gowns. Kareena, as always, took us by surprise as she stunned us with her corset styled floor-sweeping gown. Baring her sculpted legs, she accentuated her waist by cinching a bold black leather-esque belt to flaunt them ecstatic curves with panache. How can we miss the up and coming Jhanvi Kapoor dolled up in a bewitching avatar all set to light up the stage on fire in her body hugging lace-ridden dress. She made us fell for her instantly the moment she posed for the paparazzi in her casual chic charm taking away the spotlight so effortlessly.
The joy of dressing comes from within and nothing matches the elevating sense of monochrome charm. Resonating every bit of sensation, Diana Penty sashays in a champagne hued monochrome lehenga blouse showcasing floral details with a spectacular aesthetic appeal. The breath-taking cross styled blouse featuring sequins shimmer layered with a delicate dupatta, Diana ensured her look was on-fleek and bride ready.
Shimmers and Mirrors
If there’s one trend that has perfected its way to the runway, it is indeed the shimmers and mirrors, the age-old Indian handicraft art resonating both elegance and luxury with a pinch of haute fashion. To add glam, floral details work as a magic. Just how we love Saiyami Kher’s traditional Indian look in ethnic overalls featuring a rouge mirror laden kurta and cropped palazzo pants. Her sophisticated uber-city look featuring a garden of impeccably crafted rose motifs all-over, Saiyami glowed in her natural beauty.
Recalling the beauty sensation of debutante actress Kriti Kharbanda on the runway in her dazzling appearance as she dressed to kill in a bronze shimmer blouse paired with a silk skirt to exude effortless exuberance. Messy long hair just added oodles of oomph, don’t you think so?
Malaika Arora Khan adorned a sartorial aquamarine floor-touching gown with seamless details blending in effortlessly on her hem. The exotic hued gown featuring shell design in 3D with her crest embellished in semi-precious stones immaculately embedded. This color should certainly be qualified as the upcoming Pantone Color of the year, we’re in love with this subdued hue. Our vote goes for this outfit, perfect for cocktails and reception parties.
Endearing ensembles curated for fine women might be many, yet silk silhouettes always score a top position in our list. Just like this delicately handwoven and detailed ivory white lehenga, the dusky Indian woman portrayed the essence of traditional image so beautifully. Resonating a royal class of breed, pearl and gold polished jewelry further added a dash of charm and elegance to the entire look, however, our heart skipped a beat admiring at this breath-taking look.
The second look we absolutely adored is a lady clad in a white silk saree, the authentic South Indian sari with broad belts of gold border and a bustier blouse to elevate hotness quotient because why not? Raw silk saris are such a rage this wedding season, this look will complement young and married women alike, toss your hair in a top knot or chignon for a classic diva look and enchant the coterie at the gala soiree.
Ladies draped in chiffon sari exuded nonchalance as the printed nine yards perfectly accentuated the grace of a woman. We love how casually chic this looks, however, the essence of suave is what adds the culminating factor, moving forward, its coordinating blouse further elevates the desi diva look. We somehow feel this summer sorbet sari will leave ladies in cities drooling for this piece. The lemon yellow flavoured lehenga blouse is yet another attraction for young damsels in dreamy state to channel their inner bombshell.
Apt for Haldi ceremonies, it will instantly up your ante and amp up your look with a polished panache, just roll your locks in a gorgeous fishtail and let them bask in your beautiful aura.
